I am a software developer, passionate about how ICT can help developing countries tackle a wide range of health, social and economic problems. I currently work for an investment management corporate in Cape Town (South Africa) and this happens to be my first job. Before this I was studying for a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town.  I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and lived in the country for 18 years before coming to study in Cape Town in 2008. I went to an awesome high school Kyle College, which is a private school in a small town called Masvingo (Zimbabwe). That place shaped a lot of the individual I am today and in my final year there I was deputy head boy of the school and represented the school in rugby and cricket at 1st team level. It was at Kyle College where my nickname “The General” (which is now so overused, some people think its my real name) was formed.I have a great interest in technology as Im sure you have already identified. I enjoy watching football and I am a big Manchester United fan, at some point in my younger years I had a strong chance of making it professionally (yes they say I was that good), however the academic field out-muscled the sporting arena. I am fascinated by human psychology, I have read many interesting books from this field, including all of Malcom Gladwell’s books. I am a serial book reader and I hope to write some of my own books in future. I’m also very keen on learning to play piano and guitar soon. Zimbabwe still holds a special place in heart, however I love Cape Town and I enjoy every part of living here.I have some experience in multiple web technologies such as html, xml / xsl, asp.net, Ruby on Rails, CSS, Javascript and recently responsive web design.Thats me, and I try to be a better person with each new day.
