We are very excited to announce that the first ever hackathon kicks off in Nepal with a bang. 10 teams and 39 hackers have gathered at YoungInnovations office, the venue for the hackathon, with fresh saturday morning energy.
It is 5am in the morning, the contestants try their best effort for the team’s goal. The morning keeps only a few hours but a number of contestants determine to reach to team’s goal. We go to have the interview with one team, 4 members of them are awaking and go to the discussion Interviewer: Good morning, What is your team’name?Leader: Our team name is Senior, we are four members, 3 boys and only a beautiful girl.Interviewer: I see Senoir team have clearly asigned for each member.
Working atmosphere is under high pressure at 03h00 – begining of a new day. All contestants feel tired but still working hard together. They have many ways to make them more alert, such as drinking a hot cup (or more) of coffee/ tea, chewing gum, listening music, …. The limited time is a pressure to make their try more better..
At 21h00, Starting the Hackathon by presenting their ideas to the advisors in order to get suggestion, the teams has realized the new creative flow and determined to make the idea was a realizable prototype in the future.
At 17h00, September 14th 2012, m2Work Hackathon’s contest is opening!We have 15 teams attend to opening the m2Work Hackathon’s contest ceremony. 04:00pm Sep 13th 2012, all contestants have attended at Saigon Software Park (123 Truong Dinh St. Dist. 3, HCMC, Vietnam) the orientation guiding before the hackathon’s contest opening.Mr. Trần Tuấn Anh – Director of Saigon Hi-Tech Business Incubator - announced the contest rules and guided to choose ideas that related “microwork” topic. Mr. Toni Eliasz – infoDev’s program coordinator, answered questions about using the microwork contest’s ideas raised by contestants.
Less thirteen hours to m2work hackathon and counting... Meanwhile, hackers in Vietnam have already started hacking.
One day left and the hackathon will start tommorow. In fact, in Armenia, the event will start tommorow at 11:00!!!
