I can't remember any second that my Team "Sodh-Khoj" slept last night. That was a Happy Coding :). Although we are ready for today's prototype, We Still Needs furthur enhancement on our work.
I has been a long first day and night of coding and while some teams took turns to sleep others pushed straight through the night to get their m2work applications ready for this afternoon's presentations.
The energy here at mLab is still very high and after breakfast everyone seems refocused and determine to win this challenge.
Less than five and a half hours remain....
Its been around 30 hours i havnt had a nap,not even a litle and about 28 hours of coding, idea formulating, dubugging and so on....m2work hackathon turned out to be very useful for me for learning stuffs like i learnt bootstrap for coding the web interface and i learned to interface with microsoft access with PHP which turned out to be very chalenging and each and every team member of us has the same feeling like me.My team had gone a little weak but i can still see the spark in the eyes of my team mates, as the time is coming to an end for the hackathon the adernaline is incerasing ...every
Long night of coding is behind!
Many ideas got design and codes and business components. Projects developed during the night will help planting trees, take care of the environment, fixing bugs in mobile apps, developing business plans, helping people who are in trouble, fixing city bugs, monitoring brand violations, solving math problems and helping blind and/or people with limited eyesight. Stay tuned!
All the teams have been continuously sitting at the edge of the seat, staring at their monitors and their fingers tirelessly coding. We have couple of hours left before the hackathon ends. Many teams are working against time. They wish they had few more hours but they know do not have them. So they have left with no choice but to sprint faster. They have been sprinting faster as if they are on steroids. Oh yes! they are on steriods. Coffee, coffee and more coffee have been their steriods and keeping their eyes wide open through out the night.
Mobile Survey development is going on .... it is not just a development it rapid development. http://m2workhackathon.org/ideas/nepal/mobile-survey
The hackthon is taking place across the five m:Labs globally. The event attracted a huge number of techies in Kenya, with over One Hundred and Fifty of them stating their interest in participating in the event.
The event kicked off well on 15th September with One Hundred and Twenty participants showing up. Participants came up with 10 ideas, forming 10 teams with each of the teams being on the same level ground, working their way towards the goal.
Prize money at stake is as follows:
Look around the gaming room, some of the group went off to save their strength to fight for the next day whlie the rest is determined to finish their project for fear of tomorrow will not enough time ... 12 hours left from now on for contestants submit their project and present the idea of their group. Competition time was narrowed down, sprint stage started. Encountered a group seems excited:
Reporter: It seems that you do not feel the pressure, could you tell how many percentage of the project has achieved?
At around 10pm, some groups have almost completed 70% of the project, a number of groups need to be coded again because having some problems in the process of work. Challenge remains here and there but on the faces of the contestants has always shown determination, they are assigned themselves to support the team, the will and the spirit of team work more clearly shown each time when groups entered this difficult period.
After a working afternoon in a private room, the outside fresh air breathing is a great idea to support by all contestants. The nature landscape around mLab and the afternoon rain made their evening more cool and fresh, along with good food has been well prepared to help contestants regain energy and relieve stress caused by work pressure.
Even while eating, they keep their eager to talk and to share about work that very big surprise. Passion, high sense of responsibility at work is something we can feel in this Hackathon contest.
